Select a knuckle with the left mouse button, then click on the second one.

You can use a hint, it takes away the points that are given for a combination, but highlights a possible pair for half a second.

The bones are attached not only from the sides, but also from the top. The lower tiers can't affect the upper tiers. The drawing surrounded by the lower knuckles is not blocked for selection. There are many variations on the classic mahjong theme, see below for similar games.
