COLORED LINES

Often, the name of this game is voiced by transliterating the original (Lines - Lines) as Lines, or simply calling the game Balls adding the index 98 (1998 - the year of the first version of the game for PC). This option is called Colored lines, because the essence of the game is to make lines out of colored balls. The game space (which is 81 cells of a 9x9 square field) is replenished with three new colored balls each turn. The exception is moves that involve clearing a line of five or more balls.

You can say that this is a survival game. After all, it continues as long as there is at least one free cell on the field, and the player's task is to constantly clear the space by removing lines. You should be extremely careful, reasonable and not make hasty moves. The field fills up much faster than it might seem, and therefore overexposure of line blanks can lead to complete blockage of the ball passages. Speaking of which.

To move a ball from one cell to another, you must have a path that is free of other balls. This path should consist of empty cells. Moreover, the ball can only go along it horizontally or vertically, there is no passage along the diagonal! But the lines can be made both vertically and horizontally, and diagonally. Keep this in mind.
